CONTROVERSIAL rocker Marilyn Manson is no stranger to allegations about him being discussed.

But one ridiculous rumor of him having his ribs surgically removed has plagued him for decades. So, did Manson get rid of some of his rib cage? Here is what we know.

Did Marilyn Manson have his ribs removed?

The goth-rock artist, who thrives off shocking his audience, has been followed by rumors he underwent the strange procedure for decades.

The invasive and frankly gruesome surgery involves an incision being made in the patient's back along the spine, before sawing the 11th and 12th "floating" ribs away.

Although the story of Manson's alleged rib removal chased him for years, he has denied having the cosmetic procedure.

Addressing the rumored surgery in 2019, he said in a statement: "What people fail to understand is that the strange character I play on stage is exactly that: a character.

"In real life, I’m just a regular guy—not the kind of depraved weirdo who would permanently alter his own body to suck his own d**k," Clickhole reported.

Where did the rumor come from?

The discussion surrounding Manson's rib removal has swirled endlessly for years and was only exacerbated by his love of tight corsets he was often seen performing in.

But the original source of the rumor seems to date back to December 27, 1994, when he was arrested after a concert for "violating the adult entertainment code."

MORE ON MANSON

Reports state the 52-year-old was held at a police station before being released without charge.

Cops allegedly believed he had performed oral sex on a man while performing on stage - but it turns out Jack Off Jill vocalist, Jessicka, was reportedly wearing a prosthetic penis at the gig.

The story of the musician's on-stage antics somehow became warped into a tale of self-pleasure, that sparked the rumors of his rib removal.

In his autobiography The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, he also wrote: "If I really got my ribs removed, I would have been busy sucking my own d**k on The Wonder Years instead of chasing Winnie Cooper."

His Wonder Years reference was in relation to another untrue rumor that he starred as Paul Pfeiffer in the family-friendly 80s sitcom before drastically changing his image.
